The Essay

Please type a well-organized essay on the following theme: “Based on your life experiences, if you could start your own charity, what would your mission be and why?  Who would you serve?  What kinds of acts of service would volunteers perform?”    On a separate sheet of paper (8 ½ x 11) please type a well-organized essay on the theme above.  Applicants should cite personal examples of their participation in community sponsored events, academic and religious education programs, ministries, etc. to develop the theme.  Essays will be evaluated according to these categories: grammar usage and mechanics, clarity and coherence, adherence to theme, and inclusion of adequate details.        The Essay must be typed in 12-point font (Arial or Times New Roman), doubled-spaced and between 800 –1000 Words on the ***Scholarship Theme.*** Margins should be 1-inch on all sides (top, bottom and sides).
